This benchmark calculator uses data from the 2025 KFF Employer Health Benefits Survey — the largest, most respected annual survey of employer-sponsored health insurance in the United States, based on 1,862 employer interviews. Benchmark figures are adjusted for all 50 states and Washington D.C. using regional cost-of-care indices, and for industry-specific demographic factors including workforce age distribution and income levels.

2025 KFF Employer Health Benefits Survey (26th annual edition). Published by the Kaiser Family Foundation — the nonpartisan source for health policy research. All premiums are the most current available as of 2025.

📍 State Adjustment

Premiums vary significantly by state — from Alaska (+16.8%) to Mississippi (-4.8%). We apply state-specific adjustment factors for all 50 states and DC based on regional cost-of-care indices and historical KFF state-level data.
