Regular training of employees is essential to keep them motivated about their work. All work can get monotonous after a while, but regular professional training sessions can help employees focus on aspects where they lack and keep it from getting boring.

However, it may be difficult to schedule training for employees when they already have the full day of work to complete. But the following tips may prove to be helpful:

Brief the Training Session in Advance

Generating an email containing the training session’s introduction and purpose a couple of days before the session can greatly save time. Instead of spending 10-15 minutes detailing the introduction and explaining the purpose repeatedly, the mentor at the training session can cover it in two to three minutes.

Keep them Brief and Divided

Most training sessions seem wasteful for the time they consume. Generally, most professional training sessions can last anywhere between 90 minutes to three hours. People can be late to them or want to leave early. Even mentors can be late, or the systems can cause delays too.

But all these issues can be avoided by keeping the training sessions short and dividing them over a few days. It will keep the administration on their toes to ensure all systems work as there would be no time to lose. The same reason will ensure punctuality from mentors and those getting trained too.

Moreover, the employees getting trained will not find 30 minutes of sessions as a waste of their time or a hindrance to their work.

Test the Employees Orally Every Few Minutes

It’s not fair to test the employees after training sessions. Different individuals can be in different mindsets on the training day. Employees might find it irritating to be made to take lengthy tests on top of doing their work. However, orally testing employees now and then during the training session can greatly save time and keep the employees attentive.

The mentor can keep mixing it between the two styles of oral testing. They can ask questions from all employees and let employees raise their hands for participation or involve all employees one by one at random by asking them a question directly.

Make them Hands-On

Theory and presentation are a thing of the past. Your employees do practical work at your organization and hence deserve to be trained practically too. No employee wants to see slideshows or listen to the new technology or new methods for their job.

They all want to see it happen and do it alongside themselves too. Hands-on professional training sessions are also much easier for employees to get involved in and remember.

Finally, encourage punctuality and interest by showing punctuality and interest in training sessions. Your employees are constantly getting trained by the work environment you sustain. If the organization’s management, employers, and top leaders equip themselves with new knowledge and information, the staff will be encouraged to do the same.
