An employee wellness program requires you to maintain specific engagement levels with your employees as well. A wellness program can only work wonders if you keep checking up with your employees and make sure that they are following the goals that you have set for them. Your employees will only react favorably to the health standards you have set for them, if you keep incentives on achieving goals, and make sure that you keep following up on the program.
Employee Discount Programs
Employee discount programs are fundamentally flawed because they give employees to choose or not choose to benefit from them. An employee discount program can also become mundane easily, and employees don’t react the way they would otherwise. Rarely do discount programs include deals or services that the employees actually need. So, this ends up being a huge fail that can consume resources without satisfying employees.
Employee of the Month
The employees in your organization can be categorized into three groups. The first group is of people that are working hard and get recognitions such as employee of the month. The second group comprises of employees that work hard, but don’t get the top spots. And the third group includes employees that aren’t putting in the desired effort. Benefits such as employee of the month or others of such a nature are unfavorable and undesirable for the second group of employees; often the major contributors to your productivity.
Instead of this, your reward system should be more instantaneous, where you should reward employees in the moment rather than waiting for the month to finish.
